Dixy Suicide shoot. More High Key shooting. The shoot went really well, great model, and some great poses. Lighting wise there was 2 large bowens softboxes towards the front of the studio pointed directly at the background. Two small flashes with diffusers to the left and right to blow out the backdrop and another softbox coming into the right hand side. The studio was Contrast Photography in Glasgow. This set were in the style of suicide girls but these wont be on the website. Dixy is Model Mayhem model #359513 The props for this shoot were a cheap £3.99 argos kids swimming pool, 3Kg of Fizz Bombs (red and green sweets), A selection of cakes from gregs, and quite a gothic chair from the other end of the studio. The roler skates were a great prop too although there was quite a bit of falling about..

girls kissing tattoo
Self Portrait I've always had this idea in my head of having a pic with the same person in one shot kissing themself. I always figured I would try it with an actual model, but was trying to think of something creative to do for todays picture when I remembered this idea. So, I got my camera out, took some pictures and "experimented" in Photoshop. I'm pretty happy with the end result! Now I'll have to try it out on a real model! PS - I actually photographed the side with the eczema patch. If you look close, you'll see it. Ew..

Heart Tattoos
Whenever you want to express love, passion, and adoration, it is heart tattoos that have historically appeared for centuries upon centuries. In the past, ancient civilizations viewed heart tattoos as a symbol that represented the center of intellect. Christians viewed the heart tattoos as the base of emotions, while followers of Islam viewed the symbol as the center of spirituality. Over time, the heart would remain a popular symbol of expression and in regards to tattoos. Heart tattoos span the interests of both women and men. A collection of heart tattoo selections has evolved over time. Long before, sailors were notorious for the heart and anchor tattoos scrawled in the middle. Celtic tattoos sometimes add a heart to change its style nowadays.
Over the years, the commonly used shade of red of heart tattoo is no longer the standard, as it now showcases a wide range of colors, shapes, sizes, styles, and accompaniments. Bold, bright, and expressive displays of heart tattoos have never lost their popularity. Typically, the ways this tattoo is approached can be romantic love, lust, and a unity between two people. A heart with wings is used to represent a free spirit. A popular tattoo amongst guys has become a heart with a dagger, which is often used to symbolize bravery and can also signify betrayal.
Heart tattoos are often seen to represent love and happiness. However, it can also showcase painful feelings and sad memories. A broken heart often stands for the rejected love, loss of a loved one, or a failed relationship. Intense sadness and grief is defused into this kind of tattoo design. A heart that bleeds always refers to a lost love. A heart pierced with an arrow is a popular image. Do you know it depicts both unforgettable and saddened memories of love?
The placement of heart tattoos up to you. Most men typically prefer to place this design on their biceps and chest. A woman tends to become more expressive with this design. The lower back, chest, back, and ankle will be chose for this tattoo selection.
Wings Tattoos
The wings tattoo design, often associated with the birds, represent speed, altitude, freedom and the aspiration. The wings related to the angels are spiritual, symbolizing the explanation, the councils and protection - to be taken under the wing - and inspired.
Girls Tattoos
It is not uncommon that girls are always asking me what tattoos they should get or what are the hottest tattoos. Unfortunately there is no clear cut answer simply because there are really a lot of tattoos for girls. People who have different cultures and different beliefs have different interpretation on tattoos. One might find a tattoo is sexy, but another might consider unattractive or very unfeminine.
Trends come and go. What was popular few years ago is no longer popular. In the nineties, certain tattoodesigns such as cartoon characters like Betty Boop, and barbed wire armbands were in. Now, they look very cheesy and basic. Styles as diverse as Japanese tattoos, Traditional American tattoo, Anime tattoos and floral tattoos are becoming increasingly popular.
This may explain the popularity of Japanese tattoos. In traditional Japanese tattoos each character has a meaning and interacts with the other tattoo designs as part of the whole. The same is true for Traditional American tattoos. Previously what were people done as individual tattoos from disparate elements of American culture are, but now being woven into an organic and is more like a story unfolding.
I hope I can point out the current tattoo trends and what the most popular styles of tattoos are for girls via my insight and experience. Here is what I would like to introduce.
As more and more girls are asking for large tattoo designs, here I suggest Irezumi - Traditional Japanese tattoos such as koi fish, dragons on hips, back and arms.
If you like something old, you can choose Traditional American tattoos. Old school 'Sailor Jerry' tattoos and images such as classic American cars, pin-ups, swallows and nautical stars are becoming more popular on girls chests, abdomen, back and legs.
Floral tattoos are another consideration. Previously what girl chose is a piece of flower, but now so many girls are getting flower tattoos as full sleeve tattoos or covering their entire back or legs with floral designs. Flower tattoo designs such as lotus flowers, pheonixes, orchids, chrysanthemums and flowering vines are the most popular.
Anime tattoos especially Japanese animation has become massive and doesn't show any sign of disappearing. Anime tattoos have become popular in the past five years. The only risk with Anime tattoo is that unlike other styles will probably age much quicker even though it looks great now.
Good art should last. Think of Mona Lisa's smile. The most important is to choose a tattoo that you think is cute or trendy.
Sun Tattoos
Sun tattoo represents the fertility, vitality, passion, courage and youth, the light and knowledge eternally replaced. Almost each culture has a myth of creation which explains how the sun occurred, and stop watch often a myth of accompaniment of apocalypse which details the end of the world, like know we it, when the sun is destroyed or devoured in an unspecified way. Many cultures have myths which explain to increase and the arrangement of the sun, and this cycle of repetition of light and from the darkness came to symbolize the life and dead, regeneration and the reincarnation.
Religious Tattoos
Tattoo is the way to express themselves by symbols. There have been people who have wanted a picture of religious tattoo on their bodies to express their fait to their religion. Whatever the religion, people identify with that religion have been very popular tattoo subjects. The cross as a symbol of a religion is one of the most powerful images in the world, recognizable by the majority of the world’s people as a religious symbol, even if those people aren’t members of that religion.
Many tattoo customers choose religious tattoo designs for a variety of reasons. Some choose it because of the memory of the design and what it means to them. It may bring back fond memories of times if religion played a bigger part in their life and they want to recapture some of that reverence.
Others may have these designs on their body as a show of respect for the religion, even if it’s not their own religion. Of course, some people have tattoo designs for all the wrong reasons. As sometimes the designs they choose aren’t really showing the proper respect to these religious symbols. Some youth gang members sometimes have religious tattoo symbols as a sign that they will be protected by some higher power, which is probably not true as they are in violent gangs. In fact, religious tattoos are not the best choice in this case with the gang members.
Some people choose to have religious tattoos skimpily because of their faith. They want to proclaim this faith in as many ways as they can. They can talk about it, or sing about it or have it for themselves by looking at the religious tattoos on their bodies.
The tattoo shop artists can create special religious tattoos that the customer wants. Some religious elements worked with other regular design elements can create a unique and personal tattoo about that customer’s religious beliefs. The artists are happy to oblige the customers and have created many exciting religious designs for them. Customers can search online and find many religious tattoo designs and bring those to tattoo shop artists to see what unique designs can be created. Some of the tattoo designs created are very striking and even breathe taking.
